“The Club for Owners and Enthusiasts of Britain’s finest specialist car manufacturer”
No 2. September 2016
50 members within 2 months
We are delighted that within just 2 months of the Reliant Motor Club going live, we saw our 50th member sign up. The interest in the club has been superb and not only in the UK, the club now boast members from Australia, Germany, Holland, Israel and the USA. Our Google Analytics reports detail that the website is being viewed in many other countries as well and so we hope to have more members from across the globe. Our website is important to us and has been continuously updated since its launch. At this point in time RMC members are able to open just over 280 documents although this is just the start. We plan to upload as much of our archives as possible and so we still have plenty more to upload. These will continuously be added to the website over the next year or so that there is always something new to see, and as our archives continue to expand there will always be information to add. Therefore please continue to visit the website and peruse what it has to offer.
The RMC is attracting members from all over the world who all own interesting vehicles. Above is a Carmel 1200 (derived from the Reliant FW3). Owned by Nathan Sandler in Israel, it is seen her outside what is left of the old Autocars factory.
Welcome to all new members At the RMC we are continually looking at new ways we can improve the club to make it more personalised and ensure that our members feel valued. We realise that whilst the current online sign-up process is quick and effective, it does not really welcome new members to the club. Therefore over the next couple of weeks we will be creating a Welcome letter that will be sent to everyone as soon as they sign up. As many of you have already signed up, we will also be sending a copy of the Welcome letter to you also, so whilst we appreciate that for some that you have been members for a few weeks now, we just want you to know that we value your membership and to make sure that we have welcomed you.
The Reliant Motor Club is pleased to announce that we are now members of the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Clubs. The FBHVC exists to uphold the freedom to use historic vehicles on the road. It does this by representing the interests of owners of such vehicles to politicians, government officials, and legislators both in the UK and (through the Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens) in Europe.
It is time to start compiling our first club magazine, The Reliant Motor Club Review which is due in December 2016. We already have several ideas of what to add as we plan to make our first edition a bumper issue to celebrate both the new club and the first edition of the magazine. If you have an interesting story or anything that you would like to add to the magazine let us know.
We have been looking and trying to get a wide range of discounts for our members and these are now starting to appear in our Members Area. We are in talks with more companies and we hope to be offering even more discounts soon so please keep an eye on the website.
