Wildcat Chat: Monthly e-newsletter from the Cassville R-IV School District
April 2017
New NHS Members Inducted: On April 5, 27 new members were inducted into the Clara Astra Chapter of the National Honor Society at CHS bringing our current membership total to 60 members. NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. The Clara Astra chapter was established at CHS in 1958.
Join us this year for summer school! Students will enjoy activities that are engaging and hands-on as well as participate in discovery projects. Classes available for prek-12 grade students. Daily activities will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m.,  with breakfast being served from 7:15-7:45 a.m. each morning.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge to all students attending summer school. We will also be happy to serve any student under the age of 18 free breakfast or lunch, even if he or she is not attending summer school.

Designated bus stops are available if enough students are interested in riding, however, parents are responsible for getting their child to and from the bus stop. If transportation is needed, please make note of this on your child's summer school application.

If you have questions concerning summer school or wish to sign-up your child, please contact your child's building office. High school, 847.3137; Middle school, 847.3136; Intermediate school, 847.4010; Eunice Thomas Elementary, 847.2445.
Over the next month, many of our students will be completing annual year-end exams. While exams can cause anxiety for some students, there are many tactics parents and family members may utilize to ease stress.
  • Remind your child to listen carefully to the instructions from their teachers.
  • Remind students to read the directions and each question carefully.
  • Encourage your child to stay focused on the test, even if other students finish early.
  • Keep a positive attitude about testing.
  • Make sure that your child gets enough sleep the night before the exam.
  • Ensure your child eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Make sure your child is on time to school.
  • Encourage your child to do well but don’t pressure him or her. It is important that your child remain relaxed for the test.
We know our wildcats are ready to tackle their exams and finish the year strong!
