The Cassville R-IV School Board has approved the 2017-2018 school calendar.
Have Some Fun and Benefit the Cassville Education Fund!

Cassville’s newest Champions of Trivia will be crowned on Friday, March 10 at the Cassville Education Fund Trivia Night fundraiser. The informal evening of fun and games begins at 7:00 p.m. at the CHS Commons.

Trivia topics include everything from sports, history, geography, literature, pop culture, movies and music, to food and nature. This is a team competition where team members discuss each question and agree upon a single answer that is written on their answer sheet.

Up to eight members per team. Entrance fees are $15 per player or $120 per team. To guarantee a spot in the competition, participants should pre-register at the Cassville Chamber of Commerce office, 504 Main Street, or call 417-847-2814. Spectators may observe the fun for a $5 per person admission fee.

Proceeds from Trivia Night benefit the Cassville Education Fund. The fund is a permanent endowment supporting academic programs at Cassville schools. Grants from the interest on the fund will be awarded this spring for student-centered academic programs. Since the fund was established in 2011, nearly $8,000 has been awarded to Cassville schools.

This year an anonymous supporter has made a $5,000 challenge grant. This generous grant provides a dollar-for-dollar match for all donations made to the Cassville Education Fund through May 31, 2017.
50 cent popcorn night: Commerce Bank will host 50 cent popcorn night on Tuesday, February 21 during the CHS boys basketball game vs. the Monett Cubs at home. Join us as we cheer on the Wildcats, celebrate our seniors and enjoy 50 cent popcorn (served in a fun Wildcat megaphone!)! Thanks to Commerce Bank for generously paying the full price to our district for the popcorn! Freshman game starts at 5 p.m., followed by junior varsity and varsity games.
Intermediate Spelling Bee: 38 fourth and fifth grade students competed for a chance to participate in The Joplin Globe Spelling Bee on March 20 at Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin.

Fourth grade student Dustin Simon (pictured right) won the spelling bee. CJ Rose (pictured left) came in second and will serve as alternate.

Congratulations to all of our spelling bee participants and best of luck to Dustin as he travels to Joplin!
100 canned goods (and more!) for 100 days of school: On January 26, kindergarten students at Eunice Thomas Elementary celebrated the 100th day of school!  In early January, Mrs. Mandi Lyall’s class began collecting canned goods and discussing how to help others in our community.  Their goal was to collect 100 cans by the 100th day of school.  They over exceeded their goal and collected 232 cans! Students donated cans as well as the class business partner, Able 2 Products.  Canned food items will be donated to the Helping Hands Community Food Pantry in Eagle Rock, MO.  Pictured above is Mrs. Lyall’s Kindergarten class, Caleb Buntin from Able 2 Products, and Mrs. Lyall.
