2017 International Year Code is E

It’s been proven that across the country and around the globe that buyers are willing to pay more for registered Limousin and Lim-Flex® cattle. Registration papers and accompanying performance records provide breeders and buyers alike with valuable information on the pedigree, performance, and EPDs of an animal.

The professional breeder will provide this information to the buyer through the transfer of registration. This allows the new owner to monitor the genetics of his herd to aid in selection. As well pedigree for parentage and performance allows for the documentation of offspring and performance to feed yards and other potential buyers.

Do it right. Help your buyers document their genetics by transferring registration paper. It’s easy.

In observance of Presidents' Day, the North American Limousin Foundation office will be closed Monday, February 20, 2017.

Regular office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., MST, will resume on Tuesday.

The 2017 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show was held Feb. 1-3 in Nashville, Tenn. This year’s convention and trade show was the largest ever with more than 9,300 attendees.

The North American Limousin Foundation once again cooperated with other breed partners for the International Genetic Solutions booth of the NCBA Trade Show (Booth #1314). NALF representatives including Executive Director Mark Anderson, Assistant Executive Director Joe Epperly, Regional Manager Corey Wilkins, and Director of Public Relations & Media Jennifer Scharpe attended the event.

During the trade show, demonstrations of the new IGS Feeder Profit Calculator were held. The IGS Feeder Profit Calculator is the new benchmark in gauging feeder calf value. The IGS Feeder Profit Calculator empowers producers to market with confidence and feeders to maximize their purchasing dollars.

Congratulations to Wulf Cattle for being a recipient of the National BQA Award presented at the convention. As well, several Limousin individuals have leadership roles on the national level. Jerry Effertz is the 2017 NCBA Federation division chairman. Bob Mitchell is a member of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board. Jennifer Scharpe was elected secretary of the American National CattleWomen, Inc.

Thank you to all the Limousin breeders who attended this prestigious event.
