Public warned against groups peddling barangay OIC posts, project contracts
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ismael Sueno warns the public to be on the lookout for unscrupulous individuals or groups who promise appointment-for-a-fee as barangay chairman.
Sueno said that the DILG does not tolerate ‘shadowy schemes” and he reiterated that barangay officials who are not facing any pending case or complaint before the Ombudsman, the Sangguniang Bayan or Panlungsod or any other legal body should not worry about losing their post.

As the whole nation looks back at the lessons from super typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) that wreaked havoc on the Philippines in 2013, the DILG reported that the first batch of post rehabilitation efforts under the Recovery Assistance on Yolanda (RAY) program is already 99.66% complete.
Secretary Sueno encourages LGUs to join the “Innovative Solutions Bank” of the Local Government Academy (LGA) which hastens the collection, dissemination, and creation of practical yet strategic solutions for specific governance challenges faced by local governments. An LGU will be given a training to replicate selected policies of another LGU.
PHL, China tie-up to produce
world class aromatic tea
DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno has announced that China is determined to enter into a partnership with the Philippines to come up with a world class tea to be produced in Philippine soil, a partnership that will bolster the ties between the Philippines and the People's Republic of China.

TACLOBAN, LEYTE — Twelve local government units in Eastern Visayas proved that they belonged to a select group of LGUs nationwide that passed the highly coveted “Seal of Good Local Governance” of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
