Creation of LGU best practices office mulled
DILG Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno is mulling the creation of a best practices office that will review and consolidate all of the inspiring systems, processes, and projects of local government units that can be replicated by other localities.

Sultan Kudarat, Quezon to donate land for govt, drug rehab centers
SULTAN KUDARAT – Following DILG Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno’s call for local government units (LGUs) to donate land for drug rehabilitation centers,at least two provinces have already come forward and signified their intent to give a parcel of their land to the government.
The first LGU to heed the DILG’s appeal is the province of Sultan Kudarat as expressed by its governor, Datu Pax Mangudadatu, who will give five hectares of the capitol compound for the construction of a rehabilitation center.
And the latest LGU that has conveyed its willingness to donate land is the province of Quezon. Sueno said the Department is now finalizing arrangements with other LGUs which have articulated their commitment to support the anti-illegal drugs drive and to donate land.Read more
R2 pioneers 1st Regional Operation LISTO and
TUGUEGARAO CITY – Region 2 has inaugurated the first Operation LISTO and IT Center at the DILG Regional Office 2 here. The inaugural ceremony was spearheaded by the members of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) and Regional Management Coordinating Committee (RMCC), and by DILG Provincial Directors.
The DILG Regional Office put up a photo gallery showcasing the Department’s roadmap towards adaptive resiliency, as well as DILG efforts in institutionalizing disaster preparedness in the region.Read more
CAMP CRAME – PNP Chief, Director General Ronald Dela Rosa reiterated today his uncompromising stand against extra-judicial methods of anti-criminality operations particularly against illegal drugs.
Speaking during his regular weekly press briefing in Camp Crame, the Chief PNP also expressed his disapproval of vigilantism in the national anti-drug crusade.
“The PNP does not condone vigilantism. I, personally, will be vigilant against vigilantism,” the Chief PNP said.Read more
BFP supports PRD’s war vs. illegal drugs
CAMP CRAME – At least 34 senior officers of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have undergone a surprise drug testing at the BFP National Headquarters recently.
BFP Officer-in-Charge CSUPT Rodrigo R. Abrazaldo initiated on the said activity to show the agency’s support towards President Rodrigo Duterte’s (PRD) campaign for Anti-Illegal drugs which is rampant even among law enforcers.
“We are one with PRD in curbing the use of illegal drugs in the country, that is why this move aims to cleanse the rank, just like what they are doing in the PNP and other uniformed services as well as to weed out those personnel involved in the use of these dangerous drugs, “ CSUPT Abrazaldo said.Read more
