LGUs can tap calamity funds vs. El Nino 

As several parts of the country continue to be affected by El Nino, Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) today urged concerned local government units (LGUs) to utilize their respective local calamity funds and tap other available national government funds to help mitigate the effects of this extreme weather phenomenon. Read more

Muntinlupa, San Juan empowers CSOs through BuB

Through the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BuB), the cities of Muntinlupa and San Juan have commenced their preparations for the conduct of a series of capacity building trainings for civil society organizations (CSOs). BuB is a program of the national government that initiates participative governance through the inclusion of CSOs in decision-making, as it allows them to identify the programs and projects needed in the community. A total of 263 or 54 percent of the 489 Locally Funded projects in 2015 being administered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) have been completed by implementing Local Government Units (LGU) in the Region. Read more
