CEO Newsletter | October 2016

Dear EIT Health partners,

The chilly weather may be coming on, but things are heating up at EIT Health this autumn, with a packed calendar of activities that are keeping our partners busy and helping to grow our network.

The Innovation Pillar just completed meetings to review progress, budgets and future plans of ongoing innovation projects. The monitoring provides an excellent opportunity to identify areas where projects can benefit from support, through connections to additional partners or to ongoing CAMPUS and Accelerator activities.

Though the Summer School season over, the CAMPUS is keeping very active, with the release of new MOOCs, a Venture Lab weekend and more.

The Accelerator is keeping busy with its boot-camp-style local trainings and is drawing interest on its portal for start-ups.

Of course the biggest event of the season is the 23-24 November EIT Health Summit in Barcelona, where 350 participants from our partner organisations can partake in presentations of EIT Health’s work, presentations by innovators involved in our projects and unparalleled opportunities for networking. We are pleased to announce that Robert Madelin has confirmed his participation in the opening panel. Mr. Madelin, a former advisor to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, served as Director General of DG Connect from 2010 to 2015 and has recently published a report on innovation in Europe. Interest in the Summit is high, so please be sure to register this week if you have been invited. You can find out more here.

Besides the Summit, please also reserve the date of our big Matchmaking event for all three pillars in Uppsala, 1-3 February.

A new presentation about communication and branding can be found in the Templates and Guidelines section of the Connections site. This will help you in the dissemination of your activities. See the presentation here.

"Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for hosting a Summer School or Short-course; the call will be published by mid November."

Sylvie Bove
CEO EIT Health e.V.
