What Do You Really, Really Want?

I don’t usually take life advice from the Spice Girls, but sometimes you take inspiration where you find it.

While pondering my goals for the new year, I remembered career advice I heard at a seminar while in college: what is your dirty little secret? What is the job, industry, or even a characteristic of a job that you know deep down you want, but that you are too embarrassed or ashamed to admit to others (and maybe even yourself).

What does this have to do with new years? If you set new years goals or resolutions, make sure your goals are what you really want (what you really, really want).

Not what you think you should want. Not what would be best for your family. Not what would look great on Instagram. Consider your ‘dirty little secret’ goals. The things you know deep down would bring you pleasure even if they are a little silly.

You don’t have to admit them to others, but you should admit them to yourself.

ICYMI, highlights from my blog:
Over the New Year's Weekend, I did my latest running adventure - back-to-back half marathons on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Its the 2-year marathon!
Did you make a New Year’s Resolution to start your own blog or website? Its easier that you think. Trust me, if I can do it, so can you.
Please forward this newsletter to anyone you think would enjoy it. Thanks!
