What an amazing year we’ve had together! When I look back, it’s hard to believe our site has only existed since November 2015. God has done so much in so little time. I want to thank each of you for being an important part of God’s work at C4.
Recently during a spiritual retreat day I was praying for all of you, for C4, and for God’s continued leading in what we do as a community. The very next day I was approached by our Senior Leadership Team to consider shifting roles to oversee Family Ministries when Pastor Gillian transitions out of the position later this Spring (click to read about her news). After much prayer and consideration, I have accepted the opportunity to step into the role as C4’s Pastor of Family Ministries, overseeing C4 Kids, Jr Youth, and Sr Youth across all sites.
Although the decision was difficult, I have always believed that following God’s calling is more important than being comfortable. The hardest part in changing roles is that I won’t get to work weekly alongside all of you amazing people. The North Durham community has been the “dream team” for me to pastor and lead. I deeply love and appreciate so many of you and your commitment to Jesus.
The good news is I’m not going anywhere! We are one church and in my new role I am responsible for all Family Ministry execution at North Durham, Ajax, and the upcoming East site. I’m excited to continue developing the site strategy at C4 from the perspective of kids, youth, and their families.
I welcome your prayers in this time of transition and ask you to begin praying for the pastor we hire to continue leading at C4 North Durham. We will be hiring the new North Durham Site Pastor in the near future, and I will officially transition into my new role later this Spring when Pastor Gillian leaves the position.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
